Practice Areas
- Securities and Business Arbitrations and Commercial Litigations.
Jeffrey S. Weintraub is resident in the Firm's New York Office and specializes
in complex securities and corporate Arbitrations and litigation in state and
federal courts.
Mr. Weintraub represents individual claimants, registered representatives and
broker-dealers in Arbitrations brought under the securities industry's
self-regulatory organizations such as the National Association of Securities
Dealers Regulation and the New York Stock Exchange and in enforcement and other
proceedings brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. He also represents
companies, partnerships and other ventures in corporate and business litigations
ranging from contract disputes to actions brought under federal and state securities
anti-fraud law and regulation.
Background:
Since being admitted to practice law in New York in 1991, Mr. Weintraub practiced
first in the litigation department of Spengler Carlson Gubar Brodsky & Frischling,
a mid-size New York City firm, and thereafter was associated with Hunton & Williams'
New York office and with Reid & Priest (later Thelen Reid & Priest). At Hunton & Williams,
in addition to commercial litigation, Mr. Weintraub also handled corporate matters
including counseling a Fortune 50 client in advertising and promotion law, election
and lobbying law compliance and in FTC and BATF compliance issues. At Reid & Priest,
Mr. Weintraub continued his commercial litigation practice, and developed a specialty
practice in Internet privacy and corporate website issues. He joined the Firm
in 2003.
