Terry Gillis is based in the Firm's San Diego office and specializes in
complex business and securities litigations and arbitrations. Before moving to
California and joining the Firm, she was associated with the prestigious Washington
D.C. firm of Covington & Burling and was a legal assistant, writer, and editor
with publishing and advertising firms in Cleveland, Ohio and New York City. While
with Covington & Burling, Ms. Gillis developed expertise in insurance advice,
litigation and alternative dispute resolution, particularly in establishing coverage
for policyholders under directors' and officers' indemnity policies
and commercial liability policies for securities, mass tort and environmental
liabilities. She also tried various pro bono matters ranging from prison
reform and landlord tenant litigation to foster child adoptions and other family
law
cases involving child welfare. Formerly a visiting Assisting Professor in Legal
Writing at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Ms. Gillis presently represents various
public and private corporations, investors and others in securities Arbitrations
and civil litigation.
