Jonah Toleno Re-Elected President of the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego

Our partner Jonah Toleno was re-elected as 2016 President of the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego (FALSD). FALSD is a local bar organization committed to ensuring that attorneys of color, particularly Filipino American attorneys, have access to equal opportunities in the legal profession. It aims to develop multicultural solutions, to foster, diversification and to sustain multicultural coalitions in all channels of the legal system. Some of FALSD's 2015 events under Jonah's leadership included a multi-attorney-and-judge reenactment of Wards Cove v. Atonio, a U.S. Supreme Court case involving discrimination claims by Filipino cannery workers in the Pacific Northwest; mentorship panels and events at all three local law schools; her representing Shustak Reynolds & Partners and FALSD at the White House's inaugural Philippine American History Month celebration; and collaborating with other organizations in a toy drive for Friends of Scott, a local childhood cancer awareness foundation. In 2015 FALSD became an affiliate of NFALA, the National Filipino American Lawyers Association.

Jonah focuses her practice on securities, business and financial services litigation. She also is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Lawyers Club of San Diego, a bar organization committed to the advancement of women in the law. We are proud to support FALSD and Jonah's ongoing work in the community.
